The TRUTH About Network Marketing .. Is it for REAL? Or is MLM Purely a Scam
It has been our personal observation, corroborating the views of many others, that while most network marketing opportunities or MLM opportunties aren't outright frauds or deliberate scams (there are a few that are!), that they typically paint far too rosy a picture of their opportunity for the vast majority of folks to be able replicate and attain a similar degree of success.
The sad fact is that most MLM or network marketing companies are a complete waste of time and money for the average person. In fact, MOST people don't have the time, the energy or the skills needed to be able to successfully "follow the leader".
But that often doesn't become obvious until a significant amount of time and money has been spent trying.
Replication is the Key -- And Replication is a "Numbers Game" which Involves a TREMENDOUS Amount of Attrition
First of all, please understand that there ARE some EXCEPTIONAL people, "born leaders", who have the drive, determination, money, and communication skills to be able to create what APPEARS to be a successful organization. If you follow the careers of these people, you will often discover that they have been 'successful' in building numerous MLM organizations over the years.
Why so many? Why not stick with just one company?
Because, the truth of the matter is that UNLESS there is an UNLIMITED number of "new people" coming into the organization, the MLM company MUST FAIL!
The given reasons for failure may vary... but can usually be traced to two things: 1) violation of pyramid scheme laws 2) natural attrition.
The fact is that MOST people who give MLM or Network Marketing a try drop out. In order for a company ... and its top 'leaders' to at least APPEAR to succeed, these 'drop outs' must constantly be replaced at a rate that is significantly higher than the rate at which people are dropping out. This is often referred to as the "momentum phase".
But in the end, Network Marketing companies, no matter how good their product, or how many times or how cleverly these companies 'reinvent' themselves, they must all fail.
The reason. The vast majority of the population... I'm guess that it could be as high as 98% or 99% of the population... simply cannot REPLICATE at a sustained rate.
Again, most people just don't the time or inclination or skills or even the money to hold meetings, run ads, send out mailers, make phone calls or post messages on bulletin boards for any sustained period of time.
If such were the case, for all the hype and energy that's been put into launching MLM pipedreams, network marketing would represent a substantial way of doing business in the world.
But it's not... and it never will.
