Space
Exploration and Interstellar Travel
Stardrive.org
is the first in a series of
websites created by the Internet
Science Education Project (ISEP). It
is is dedicated to fostering increased public
awareness and education in the theoretical and
technological aspects of interstellar travel.
Electric
Spacecraft Network
Aspires to "develop practical means of space
travel via electric/magnetic propulsion,
gravitational interactions, energy
transformations, or applications of anomalous
nature."
Warp
Drive When?
This NASA site focuses on the propulsion related
issues, explaining the challenges of interstellar
travel, existing propulsion ideas, and the
possibilities emerging from scientific literature
that may one day provide the desired
breakthroughs. A more advanced site, for
physicists, is NASA
Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Project.
StarLab.org
This is a wonderful site with a fabulous sense of
humor whose mission is:
-
To
prove that blue sky and exploratory research
in Europe can be a business model.
-
To
go into research on the deep future focussing
on the convergence of bits, atoms, neurons and
genes.
-
To
build a laboratory that embodies Deep Future TM
and Deep Time TM that will be
charismatic to visit, interesting to think
about and famous enough to become iconic in
the public discourse (Steward Brand)
-
To
provide a sanctuary for exploratory research
that has been unable to find shelter for
reasons of its initiatory or speculative
nature.
-
To
prove that the creation of wealth beats the
management of scarcity (Nasa)
-
To
build a private institute where one hundred
years means nothing
-
To
unite the best minds of the world and provide
them with a space of continuity to have the
confidence not to be afraid of revolutions
(Freeman Dyson)
-
To
distribute the burdens on research with a long
horizon over multiple, interested partners in
consortia.
-
To
introduce concepts of marketing and
sponsorship in science and to advance ideas of
funding that position science as a
championship.
-
To
make a difference.
-
To
privatize government labs.
How
to Space Travel Faster Than the Speed of Light
BobLazar.com
Beautiful site.
Proposes a plausible use of antimatter for an
interstellar propulsion system discovered in Area
51. "Between December 1988 and April 1989,
the area known as Groom Lake, on the Nellis Air
Force Range in central Nevada became unusually
popular. The now infamous Area 51 and especially
the Groom and Papoose dry lake beds were
relatively unknown terms to the mainstream
community from the mid 1970's to 1989. The
scientific circles knew it as
"Dreamland" or as the Skunkworks or
simply as Groom Lake. One night in May 1989,
a reporter broadcast a story from a satellite link
in Las Vegas Nevada. A young physicist spoke
under hidden identity, and told us of nine alien
discs held near Groom Lake by a small, autonomous
group of the American goverment. He used the
psudonym "Dennis" which turned out
to be the name of his superior at the base.
A few weeks later he went on camera using his real
name, Bob Lazar, and he has been the subject of
world-wide curiosity, speculation and controversy
ever since."
Anti-Gravity
Concepts and Principles of Propulsion
Stellar
Drive Engine "is an electromagnetic
device for generating unidirectional thrust. It
has no moving parts and generates unidirectional
thrust based on a flaw in Maxwell's
electromagnetic equations which manifests itself
when two conductors carrying current with
harmonics greater than the fundamental interact
through their magnetic fields." Jean
Louis Naudin's website refers to it as "an
ingenious idea!"
The
Gravitational Spacecraft from Fran de Aquino with
artist's conceptual drawings, schematics, etc.
"Due to the null gravitational mass of the
photons, it must be possible to build a shield of
photons around the source, which will impede the
exchange of gravitons between the particles inside
the shield and the rest of the Universe."
Construction
of the Gravito Magnetic Device (Sinclair)
Electro-gravitic
Experiments of Thomas Townsend Brown
"I have no doubts about
the validity of Thomas Townsend Brown and his
incredible claims of an "anti-gravitic"
discovery. I have reproduced his devices in my
lab...."
