Qigong Teachings of a Taoist Immortal: The
Eight Essential Exercises of Master Li Ching-Yun by Stuart
Alve Olson "One of the most famous qigong
masters of this century, Master Li Ching-yun is reliably
chronicled to have lived more than 250 years, during which
he practiced the Eight Brocades on a daily basis. His
longevity and personal endorsements attest to and validate
the Eight Brocades as the quintessence of Taoist health
and qigong practices. The first English translation of
Master Li Ching-yun's teachings on the Eight Brocades, the
central practice of qigong. Explains the physical and
spiritual benefits of the Eight Brocades and offers
step-by-step instructions for this powerful sequence of
postures. 85 illustrations highlight the postures and
philosophies. Author's commentary provides insight
and depth to the original translation. Throughout
history Taoists have promoted the development and
restoration of the Three Treasures-- body, breath, and
spirit--through the gentle practice of qigong. At the
center of the qigong practice are the Eight Brocades, a
series of postures that developed during the 3,000-year
Taoist quest for longevity and vitality. Now qigong expert
Stuart Olson translates into English Master Li Ching-yun's
treasured teachings on the Eight Brocades. With Master Li
Ching-yun's original teachings as a guide, Stuart Olson
presents an authentic yet accessible approach to this
unique practice. Each exercise is accompanied by original
text from Master Li, step-by-step instructions for each
posture, illustrations of the positions, and insights on
theory and practice. Because the Eight Brocades are the
foundation of all qigong, this book provides valuable
advice for all practitioners, regardless of the style they
practice or the depth of their experience"

Living on Light: The Source of Nourishment
for the New Millennium by Jasmuheen "This
Book Is Not For The Timid ! You have to be a
Spiritual Warrior to appreciate the power and energies
that pour out of her book. At first, the concept of living
on the Prana seem to be out of reach for me, and a little
scary. I knew that there were people doing this already.
Her book goes into step by step detail on how to do this,
and the very positive changes that take place while making
the transition. She also provides a lot of fascinating
information about moving into higher states of
consciousness and filling in a lot of missing pieces of
the puzzle to my Spiritual Quest. I consider myself very
fortunate to have found this book while I was at a point
in my unfoldment when I needed it the most.
There are some who are not ready for this book because the
concept of living off the Prana and achieving Ascension in
a single lifetime is more than they can handle. If you are
comfortable with your present state of unfoldment, then
this book is probably not for you, and may scare you away.
Those who are ready for this step will recognize it right
away. Her other book

"Excellent and controversial book. The book is
excellent and the author in person is better still. The
only human being that I have seen that positively glows.
The information presented is controversial because it
touches on one of humans basic unquestioned requirements:
Food. But if one reads between the lines , this is not a
book about food at all. It is a highly evolved spiritual
text that explores the infinite possibilities of being a
divine being having a human experience. It is not a book
about the rejection of the physical plane but about the
sublimation of it. For who wants to follow the "living on
light" path, there are clear and precise guidelines, that
must be followed as instructed. Three deaths have been
reported following this method and on enquiry it has been
noted that in all instances the guidelines had not been
followed. It is a process and not for all and not to
implement over night. Better suited to people that have
been on the path for awhile and already on an "aware"
diet." Reviewed by Catherine Gallanti from

The ImmorTalist Manifesto: Stay Young & Save the World
by Elixxir
Old Age and Death are no longer necessary or
acceptable. We are either the last to grow old and die, or
the first to stay young and live forever. We choose to be
the first to stay young and live forever. Our goal is
simple: kill Old Age and Death! - The Immortalist
Manifesto
For the first time in human history, Science has the
tools to slow down, stop, or even reverse your biological
aging. But the powers that be have already decreed that
you must grow old and die.
"A Book for the New Age of Human Consciousness.
I have never taken the opportunity to review a book at
Amazon.com, but felt a need to communicate my thoughts
about The Immortalist Manifesto. This was a no holds
barred, up front, cut to the chase, no BS offering to all
conscious human beings - A wake up call on the state of
our lives, the way we live them, the distorted beliefs
prevalent throughout society and what we can do to extend
the human lifespan - possibly forever. This was an awesome
read in all respects!
I found Elixxir's views on religion particularly
interesting. Although I never bought into the religion
thing, I lived my life with a nagging doubt as to what was
really true until 1996 when I started reading Neo-Tech,
which put me on the road to purging my irrational thought
processes in exchange for a mental "operating system"
based on an objective reality. At that point I realized I
could not continue living my life wallowing in a sea of
ignorance, and have been on a never-ending quest for
knowledge since then. It took 44 years, but I had finally
pulled my head out of the sand so I could think for
myself... I recently read a book titled "The Biology of
Belief" that has many quotable quotes, but one that really
jumped out at me was "We're taught what to believe before
we're taught how to think." I remember back to when I was
a kid in church and now realize why the parents had their
kids there before they even knew how to walk.
But the most important part of The Immortalist Manifesto
is regarding the screwed up priorities prevalent in the
world today - extending conscious life MUST BE our
absolute priority, but we're all hung up in treating
symptoms of health problems without regard for the
problem's source! An interesting concept in the Neo-Tech
philosophy is that the vast majority of humans don't want
to extend their lives and have no interest in immortality
because they're not happy! After spending considerable
time thinking about this, I truly believe there's
something to it.
I've asked many people about the times they've been
most happy and whether the desire for death had ever
crossed their mind. Not a chance! This wouldn't be true
for any sane person. Think about the purpose of
living...What is more important in life than being happy?
Happiness should be everyone's drive and ultimate goal in
life, and Elixxir has conceptually driven this point home
in The Immortalist Manifesto, while raising many important
issues throughout the book.
This is a very important and thought provoking read
that I would recommend to anyone who's interested in
having a longer and more fulfilling life. BUY THIS BOOK!"

The Gold Pavilion: Taoist Ways to Peace,
Healing, and Long Life by Michael R. Saso
Now I know what Taosim is...
I've been studying Taoism and Taoist
methods for a while now, but have always sensed that I was
missing "something". Somehow, I knew I just wasn't getting
the whole picture. Prof. Saso's book has taken me closer
to seeing what Taoism really is than I'd ever expected to
be taken. As a companion book to the Laozi (Tao Te Ching)
and Zhuangzi (Chuang-Tzu), I'd say "The Gold Pavilion" is
indispensable. I've learned that those beautiful, yet
frustrating ancient texts are speaking as much to the
internal self as to the external world. This is Taoism the
way the Asian practitioners see it, and they've been
following the Way for a couple thousand years. Need I say,

Live Better Longer: The Parcells Center
7-Step Plan for Health and Longevity by Joseph Dispenza
"Great advice for keeping (or recovering)
your health. When I first heard about Hazel
Parcell's work on a Gary Null radio broadcast, I was
intrigued enough to order the book the next day. I've been
studying health and nutrition on my own for the last 12
years, and during that time have found a lot of the
information presented by the "experts" contradictory and
often confusing. With so many different theories regarding
diet and lifestyle changes circulating it became difficult
to know who to believe. This book is a refreshing change
from all that. In the book, Hazel explains that one diet
does not fit all, and that you have to experiment a bit
and see what works for you, something I myself have been
doing for many years. In addition, she gives lots of
valuable information on water purification (her
recommendation came as a bit of a surprise to me-it was
the first time I had ever heard that theory), special
baths for detoxification, the harmful effects of pollution
in our environment, and cleaning your fruits, veggies, and
even meats of toxins and pesticides. She even gives you a
detox protocol if you've been exposed to X-rays. I highly
recommend this book to anyone seeking to either improve or
maintain their health, especially the beginner. It is
filled with some of the most sensible health advice I've
ever read. Thanks Hazel and Joseph." Reviewed by

Ancient Secret of the
Fountain of Youth: Book 1 by Peter Kelder, Bernie S. Siegel
"Lay your skepticism aside.
I first heard about The Ancient Secret Of The Fountain Of
Youth in 1997. I found a copy of the book at a friend's
home later that year. After reading it I was skeptical but
I decided to give it a try. I committed to doing the
exercize for three months, hoping that would be long enough
to feel any benefits. Within a few weeks I felt an
increase in my energy. If I didn't do the five rites for a
few days I could feel the difference. I am now 47 and I've
been doing the rites for three years. It's the only
exercise that I've ever done consistently. My energy level
is better now than five years ago. I have good flexibility
and I seldom feel any soreness no matter what physical
activity I engage in. I've had back problems in the past
but not anymore. Most people think I'm in my early
thirties. I do the rites every morning before breakfast. I
may skip a day once every two weeks. I don't know how but
it works! My advice is this: Lay your skepticism aside and
try it for two or three months, you'll be pleasantly

There are
those who claim to have met him personally, while others

messages of love, harmony, prosperity and immortality from
a hidden city somewhere beneath Tibet. Here was said to be
a man still alive and approaching the rip old age of 500,
who supposedly toured Europe in the l700s, helped the
Founding Fathers draw up the Bill of Rights and appeared

"Great Source of Knowledge... I thoroughly enjoyed the
entire book. Every chapter captures your interest and
simply envelopes your mind. Many, and I mean many,
Americans simply do not realize how far science has come
in terms of life extension and eventually life unlimited.
This books opens your eyes to a lot of new frontiers that
are already in our midst. It shares with the reader the
up-to-date reviews of experiments currently underway, such
as organ regeneration, telomere shortening and others
dealing mainly with aging. The author concludes the book
with his interpretation of what might, and in all reality

Beyond the 120 Year Diet : How to Double Your Vital Years
by Roy L. Walford, M.D. "Another showstopper by Dr. Roy!
This is the latest of Dr. Walford's books
regarding CRON (Caloric Restriction with Optimum
Nutrition). This work builds upon previous issues such as
the first "120 Year Diet" and the "Anti-Aging Plan" but
can stand alone on its own merits. Dr. Walford reiterates
the findings of his campaign in Biosphere II and how the
workers there who had to cope with dietary restriction
experienced healthful changes in their blood cholesterol,
blood pressure and other functions which indicated that
they were undergoing aging rate retardation. Dr. Walford
also discusses hot topics such as tofu and accelerated
brain aging, the uselessness of supplements such BHT and
BHA, the value of fruits and vegetables in actually
rejuvenating mental function in lab animals and how
moderate supplementation (NOT megadosing) has its place in
a healthful lifestyle. Rich in technical information, his
book gives one a solid nutritional and medical foundation
for life's long journey. I have but one criticism; Dr.
Walford correctly points out the importance of flexibility
and posture in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He then
cites static stretching as the key to achieving this goal.
I would recommend as an adjunct to his plan Pavel
Tsatsouline's "Super

remaining suitably flexible without the damage to
ligaments and muscles that static stretching can cause."

The Physics of Immortality: Modern
Cosmology, God and the Resurrection of the Dead by Frank
J. Tipler "What to make of a book that
postulates mathematical proof of the existence of God,
guarantees the resurrection of the dead, and promises
that, for those who so desire, there will be sex in
heaven? Tipler certainly has all the credentials of a
bona fide physicist. He's a professor of mathematical
physics at Tulane University and specializes in global
general relativity, the branch of physics pioneered by
Roger Penrose and Stephen Hawking, but his study of the
cosmos has led him to some rather extreme and
disconcerting ideas based on an uneasy mix of science,
theology, and fantasy. While some of his discussions about
time, space, and life, which he defines as "information
preserved by natural selection," are challenging and
alluring, his conclusions are simply wild. For instance,
Tipler rather blithely tells us that after leaving the
doomed earth to colonize other planets, our species will
eventually become extinct, but life itself will survive in
our "machine descendants," who will, in turn, ensure the
resurrection of each and every person who ever lived. When
will this occur? "The dead will be resurrected when the
computer capacity of the universe is so large that the
amount of capacity required to store all possible human
simulations is an insignificant fraction of the entire
capacity." Apparently, Tipler takes great comfort in this
thought, as will, perhaps, some of his readers. The rest
may just experience an overwhelming sense of dismay. Donna
